You can take some of our recipes home with you: the current cookbook by Stephan Pramstrahler called "The Voelser Kuchlkastl".
This is also the name of an annual autumn culinary event held in October, at which traditional regional flavours and dishes are presented to lovers of good hearty local food.
Just reading the recipes or looking at the photographs makes your mouth water: buckwheat dumplings, veal cheeks braised in Lagrein wine with porcini mushrooms, lamb served with sauerkraut and coriander accompanied by potato “Blattln” fritters, plum dumplings or Caramelized “Topfenschmarren”.
Stephan Pramstrahler is currently working on his new cookbook "The Best of" and - as the title suggests - it will be an exciting collection of his best recipes!
Stephan Pramstrahler’s very first cookbook, the predecessor to the "Voelser Kuchlkastl" called "Voelser Kuchlkastl - food and drink at the Turmwirt in the South Tyrol", was awarded the prize for best German language regional cookbook at the "World Cookbook Fair 1999" in Versailles. Unfortunately it is now out of print.
